Lake Chala is a volcanic crater lake tucked along the Tanzania–Kenya border, about 51 km from Moshi. Fed by underground streams from Mount Kilimanjaro, its waters shift between deep blue and emerald green depending on the light. The lake, about 3 km wide and 81 meters deep, is surrounded by towering crater walls and lush ecosystems.
